2010 Shelby GT500 with a Lethal Performance Offroad X-Pipe

Here’s another short clip I made of our car today after we installed our offroad x-pipe on our 2010 GT500. The car picked up a solid 15rwhp on a Mustang Dyno simply from replacing the stock midpipe with our offroad one. The pipe takes less than 40 minutes to install and not only unleashed a few more ponies it also woke the car up and it now sounds like a real mustang should. Beside the offroad x-pipe all we have on the car is a custom SCT tune done by Jon Lund and the set of 20″ True Forged wheels. Everything else is stock. The car with those mods put down 486rwhp on UPR’s Mustang Dyno in the 90deg FL heat. We’re very impressed with the gains as well as the sound. Not two months after unveiling the restyled 2010 Mustang, Ford pulled the wraps off the latest version of its Shelby GT500 super-’Stang. As if the previous version’s 500 horsepower wasn’t enough, these new GT500 coupes and convertibles pack a projected 540 pavement-ripping ponies from their supercharged and intercooled 5.4-liter V8, while delivering about two more miles per gallon on the highway. Peak torque has increased from 480 to 510 lb.-ft. and the rear-axle’s standard ratio increased from 3.31:1 to 3.55:1, promising truly scary acceleration. Outside, the reworked heetmetal is augmented with a new functional extractor to vent under-hood heat and a “Gurney Flap” rear spoiler. Ford’s Special Vehicle Team (SVT) says it used the 40th anniversary Shelby GT500KR “King of the Road” Mustangs as its performance starting point and built from there. Another great night at the track. The Lethal Performance 2010 GT500 made its way deeper into the 9′s cracking off a 9.66@146.19mph. The weather was in the 60′s with a little bit of moisture in the air. Jeremy Martorella of UPR Products pulled the car up to the line for our first run of the evening. With the 2 step set at 2100 he made the launch. First gear looked awesome and so did the 1-2 shift.. However after the shift the car broke loose and started going sideways but Jeremy’s professional race experience got the car back in the groove and down the rest of the track shifting as fast as an automatic could. As he passes the traps the board lit up with a 9.66@146.19mph. The car ran 114.14mph through the 1/8th. This is still using a 4″ pulley on the 4.0L Whipple which produces 21.5psi. We were using C16 with no methanol and this is blower only. We’re going to continue working on the suspension and once it’s dialed in we’ll turn up the boost. Our goal is to make an 8 second pass with the 6 speed making it the first GT500 in the 8′s with a manual transmission. Big thanks to everyone involved.
